LIBELLUS NUMERARIUS V – 14 MAIUS 2018

Hi again!

After many months hiding in the furthest borders of the Empire, the EscenaRYS lanistae are back into the fray once more. We had our crowdfunding campaign a year and a half ago, and we emptyed our chests; working under the whip we are finally getting enough sestertiae to face the much-anticipated relaunch. Gladiatoris lives!

Gladiatoris lives, that’s true… but we have a lot of doubts. Many people advised us during the campaign, in Darkstone, BSK, BGG and other public forums: we listened to them and created our new prototype using their ideas. That’s why we decided to have grey minis with coloured bases, why we changed the PAVIDUS marker or the Beast die, without losing any playability.

And now we need advice again, so we can relaunch the game in the most effective way possible. We go back to social media, to conventions and to Ludo’s meetings so we can, finally free from our original misconceptions, design a feasible Gladiatoris that can be a reality in the shortest possible time (we’ve been playing with prototypes for nine years now!).

Our old team members will still be with us: Jaime González “Sector 6”, who has been helping us with the new prototype, while still working on the game’s graphic design; the illustrator, Antonio Manzanedo, his hands full of comissions; and 3DBreed, 3D sculptors for games like Skull Tales. And, lurking in the shadows, will be Gerardo Abad “Lanarch” and Miguel García “Orphebus”…

And, of course, we must remind you that, in charge of Gladiatoris’ historical setting, we have our expert, Alfonso Mañas, whose next book we are working on. It’s not only an illustrated manual explaining the various gladiator types; delving even deeper on ancient sources, Alfonso Mañas has surprised us with a new and interesting book that compile the existing chronicles of the Colosseum combats. It will be the basis for a series of game scenarios. The perfect book to initiate oneself into the world of gladiatura and recreate those documented fights in our brand new Gladiatoris arena.

We want to go back to conventions, to annual leagues (our veteran friends from Reika are waiting for one) and, in short, to the excitement of rolling the dice and getting, against all odds, that much-needed critical strike.

¡Iugula!

LIBELLUS NUMERARIUS IV – 12 IANUARIUS 2017

Hi again, and happy new year!

GLADIATORIS is recovering 1 Wound per week… and we can already share some news:

1. Jaime González García, graphic designer for GLADIATORIS and author of the successful Sector 6 (the Kickstarter campaign ends this next Sunday, go grab your copy!) joins the EscenaRYS team as consultant.

2. We keep on working on the GLADIATORIS relaunch, making the most of all the experience levels gained during the 2016 campaign. ALL ideas and suggestions received (thanks again to all of you!) are being evaluated one by one, so we can select the best ones.

3. We’re working on a certain surprise for this 2017. We think you’ll like it, but we can’t reveal it yet. There’ll be GLADIATORIS for quite a while!

Thanks a lot for still being there! We’re delighted to find so many wonderful people interested in our game.

Hello.

The Gladiatoris Kickstarter campaign (November 2016) is cancelled, but we will relaunch!

Sadly, we have to cancel the campaign. It’s not going to reach the funding goal, so now we must take a step back and improve, so the next Gladiatoris campaign will be successful. We WILL relaunch- don’t think this is the end of Gladiatoris!

You have given us a lot of valuable advice and feedback- please keep it coming! Most of what we have learned is thanks to you, and that’s why we love to hear your ideas!

Also, we will send all backers the Print&Play as soon as possible. We will leave the Kickstarter campaign open for another 24 hours, so if you want to support us as a symbolic gesture, you still have time.

Don’t stop following us on social media- don’t miss any update. We won’t stop working.

Here’s the link to the full update. Thanks to all of you, and see you on the Arena!

What happens with Gladiatoris? II EscenaRYS release

Libellus numerarius II
XVI-MMXVI Martius

Hi again!

We have some news; a lot of you have asked us about how GLADIATORIS is going, so we’re recapping the state of affairs:

1. Our company, EscenaRYS, introduced on Libellus Numerarius I, keeps on working at a steady pace.

2. EscenaRYS has hired the illustrators (both 2D and 3D) who are working on the game’s final look. Some of them are old friends (as is the case of 3DBreed), but the rest of them will be kept a secret until the official website goes online. But here you’ve got a preview… our new logo!

3. As of today, our team is joined by two essential members:
– Miguel García, a.k.a. Orphebus, is our new Assessor.
– Gerardo Abad, a.k.a. Lanarch, is our new Community Manager.
With these new procuratores, the core of the Gladiatoris team is complete.

4. In an intensive meeting with the new team, we have outlined the action plan that will deliver the game in your hands… further even than the Medi Terraneum Sea! We won’t speak of dates yet, as they depend greatly on external companies, but we can indeed announce that our official website will go online in less than two months (its content is being uploaded right now). So watch out, and don’t forget to submit your e-mail in our blog so you can get the updates! You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

5. Our old Twitter account has changes, though it keeps the name @Gladiatoris, so it can be used by all EscenaRYS members. The former account has become @ThraexRYS, the personal account for David, advocate for the Small Shields (go Parmularii!)…

Regards,
David Temprano “Thraex” and Luis Valleaguado “Lusitor”.

Gladiatoris returns: EscenaRYS is born

After several months of hard work and silence in our blog, we are ready to communicate some most important news.

Libellus numerarius I
augustus iI-MMXV

1st. GLADIATORIS and PEKÁ EDITORIAL have parted ways. It’s been a friendly agreement and nothing has been left behind. Peká can’t load up more work this year, and we don’t want more delays for our game.

2nd. After several weeks of paperwork, we have founded “EscenaRYS”, a gaming company that will allow us to hire the people we need to develop this project.

3rd. In this very moment, there are 8 people working in our team, along with some exceptional contributors. At the same time, we are asking several companies and manufacturers for budgets.

4th. We need to do the maths and make the game viable without losing any of the prototype components.

5th. Once we get most of the design work done, we will launch a Kickstarter sales campaign with several pledges you will be able to use to customize the game.

6th. Now that we’re more committed than ever to produce the game no matter the difficulties we might face, we will make a survey for the people that have supported us through the years (we will also listen to advices before saying goodbye to our most loved prototype). We will also make a list of “people that might buy Gladiatoris” (no obligations).

Best regards,
David Temprano and Luis Valleaguado.
